The Greencastle Housing Authority was formed by a resolution of the Common Counsel of the City of Greencastle, Indiana in September of 1980 in accordance with the Federal and State law. The Authority is controlled by a Board of seven Commissioners who are appointed to four year terms by the Mayor of the City of Greencastle. One Commissioner must be a consumer. The Board of Commissioners employs an Executive Director to oversee and conduct Housing Authority business. The Executive Director hires and supervises a staff to conduct the work of the Authority in accordance with the policies and directives of the Board of Commissioners.
The Greencastle Housing Authority’s mission is to serve our community’s housing needs using all available resources and to manage those resources efficiently; in assisting low income families obtain affordable, safe, decent and sanitary housing within our jurisdiction.
